The Tale of the Broom, the Bat and the Ball

Did anyone see that Phillies Phan with the broom, making a total ass of himself? Now that is almost as crazy as Utley running into the Dodgers catcher, but funnier.

Way to go Phillies for your first sweep since May, and your 4th win in a row. You not only beat one of the finest pitchers (Webb) in the NL, but you also raised eyebrows with your young pitchers: "King" Cole Hamels and Ryan "Mad Dog" Madson. They pulled through pitching one inning after another, beautifully. They really made me pround of our pitching staff for once this season. Madson still has a few problems here and there, but he pulled through in nearly 7 2/3 innings. Very nice, Mad Dog. Hamels pitched for 5/6 innings, throwing a lot of curve and fly balls and giving more walks than HR's. That admireable, good job by everyone.

Jimmy Rollins did something none of us thought he could do, but he did; he hit a homer, along with Sal Fasano (can he actually do that). The bullpen really rallied and hit, got on base early as they should be and scored in the early innings; something they should continue to do. The Phils worked hard throughout, that by the end of the series, the camera captured how relaxed the bullpen was; smiles were everywhere. Good going guys, you deserve it!

On to Washington D.C. against the Nationals for 4 games.

Better bring that broom, we have more "sweeping" to do.
